Lomé
Lomé, the capital of Togo, is located on the Slave Coast along the Gulf of Guinea. It serves as the country's main administrative and industrial center, as well as its most important port. Founded by the Ewe people in the 18th century, the city experienced rapid growth, especially after Togo gained independence in 1960. Today, it is home to about 750,000 residents. In Lomé, you'll find the Airport, University, National Museum, and the Palace of the Republic. The climate is tropical, and the best time to visit is during the dry season from November to March.
